The Best LOTR Website

Hello everyone!! Welcome to Gollums Corner! The topic for today's blog is a brief review of a Lord of the Rings’ website I've stumbled upon recently. It provides a lengthy amount of information regarding the characters, setting, and significant events that have taken place throughout the series. If you don't know a lot about the series, this website is perfect for you. It addresses each topic sucessfully with detail and provides more than enough information. But if you know everything there is to know about the series, the website has a discussion page where you can talk with other fans of the series.

The website is called lotr.fandom. There are many formats of multimedia on the site. Pictures of the characters in the series are provided next to their full description. Many different kinds of texts are listed giving lengthy backgrounds on the where characters are from, where battles were fought, and on each of the films created. For example the most famous character of the series Gandalf, has lots of multimedia content providing information such as weapons he's used, physical features, and titles he's known by. Gandalf was involved on a series of quests involving different objectives. These are all properly listed in an organized text.

I also enjoyed how the site gives additional information about the movies beyond the plot. Information about multiple directors such as Del Torro, or Peter Jackson gives readers clarity on the background of the movie. Negative reviews are talked about regarding the direction of the film was taken, or how potential upcoming movies may be on the horizon. Multimedia texts regarding the box office success of the movies are also given to readers. The Hobbit, and the Five armies movie both grossed one billion dollars from the box office. A very impressive feat for a very popular book series.

Another multimedia feature I enjoyed with this website was the discussion page. The ability to chat with other fans of the series instantaneously makes the site interesting for readers who know the series well. The section is even still active today with questions, and opinions from various blog accounts. Another multimedia feature I like about this site is the use of polls. Questions are asked about the site giving readers the ability to express their opinions on different topics.

Not only is there an abundance of information on the series, but the material is accurate and reliable. Each topic discussed stays true to the book and the films. The site does a good job organizing their information and giving summaries on each important event to take place.

However some forms of multimedia I missed on this site was the lack of videos provided on the overall series. I wish there was more video content from the movies giving readers more of a sense of what the character was like. I also wish there was a map linking each of the events together in chronological order. The content is organized well but having a big visual on a specific area would have helped give the readers more of an idea of the fictional world.

Heres the link! Check it out.
