The One Wiki II

Hello, fellow readers! Once again we're all reunited here to assist to my soliloquy, in which today we'll be finding more about the last posts page: The One Wiki To Rule Them All

As I've done a presentation on the most relevant members of The Fellowship Of The Ring, the task of todays post is to discover more about how are this characters displayed on the page, analyzing the different multimedia resources used in the web. We'll start with the coolest character of the Company: Gandalf the Grey. This has been one of the most replicated characters since it was created, inspiring hundreds of people to create their own wizar-like characters, from simple role playing games like Dungeons and Dragons to big, famous productions like Harry Potter (Albus Dumbledore). Apart from external relevancy, this character is one of the most important ones not only in the Lord of the Rings, but in the whole history of the Middle Earth.

We'll start by saying that this character is a kind of demigod (Maiar), sent by a superior deity (Välar) in order to save the world from the evil. That's why he will never die from any disease and hardly by any other rhing. Not even a Balrog (a kind of corrupted Maiar) could destroy him, because after defeating him, Gandalf was so exhausted that the own Välars decided to ascend his rank to give him more power. The role he plays in battles like the Siege of Gondor or the Mines of Moria is essential to keep the bad guys loosing and the good ones winning (we'll talk about the Christianity reminiscence between the Legendarium and the Bible someday).

The page where the Gandalf information is shown is really long because of his relevance and longevity. It's full of hypertext, nodes and links referring to other points of the wiki and external pages, like other blogs, pages and articles. You can also find a variety of images and illustrations, from the films or external authors that wanted to contribute to the web. There's always a video being reproduced on the website, but it has got nothing to do with its content because its an advetisment.

As far as I can tell, these are all the media resources that I can find in the website. This may seem like a very poor and boring result, but the aim of this page is to give pure information, not to make it truly dynamic or appealing. In order to fulfill this, the should implement elements like quizzes (Kahoot tests), minigames (you'll see them soon here) or music. This last thing is the element I missed the most, taking into account the high level of excellence that the films have got in terms of music and soundtrack. For example, there are sets of notes and chords that refer to a character or item, like the ring. You could easily put some audio notes with these sets in order to give a richer and more varied information.

This is all for now guys! I hope I'll see you here again soon.

See you,
Jaime
