Hello, fellow readers!
Firstly I, Jaime, will present myself. I'm 18 years old and I come from Irún, a city in the border between Spain and France, 20 minutes away from San Sebastián. As you can probably guess, I like The Lord of The Rings and pretty much anything that has got anything to do with Tolkiens legendarium. I love reading, specially the classics and sci-fi literature. This may sound vague, but I'll explain it someday.
My name is Rafael Alba and I’m from New Jersey. I was born in New York but when I was very little my family moved to a small city called Springfield. My favorite hobbies are definitely playing basketball, running, and watching baseball. Fortunately, I lived near a basketball court and I would play there almost everyday. I’m one of three siblings in my family. I have an older sister who is studying PPE here at Navarra. Then I also have a younger brother who is a junior in high school. My sister is a big reason why I decided to study at Navarra. Prior to choosing Navarra, she told me many good things about the university regarding its’ academics, people, and especially the culture. During her first year she studied Humanities as well and encouraged me to study the same degree this year.
Both of my parents are from the Philippines. My mom was born and raised in the capital of the Philippines, Manilia. Eventually she moved to New York and she’s been in America ever since. Now she works for the business school affiliated with Navarra, IESE. My Dad was born in a small providence of the Philippines called Roxas. He also left the Philippines and went to live in Jackson Heights, New York. Eventually he went on to study at NYU.
The topic for the blog we chose is the very popular reading series the Lord of The Rings. Although I haven’t read all the books from the series, I enjoyed the one book I read very much, and hope to learn more about the series while writing various blogs.
We're Jaime García and Rafael Alba, two students attending the first year of the Humanities degree in the University of Navarra. Welcome to our blog. We'll begin presenting ourselves and explaining what we'll be doing in this blog.
